As an employee of Redd White's information-gathering and blackmail business Bluecorp, it was April's job to keep tabs on Mia Fey; she did so through a wiretapping device she planted in Mia's office. During Maya Fey's trial for Mia's murder, April was called as a witness. As per White's instruction, she falsely testified that she had seen Maya kill Mia. However, Maya's defense attorney, Phoenix Wright, was able to expose her lies as well as her wiretapping. April was subsequently arrested for tapping Mia's phone. Phoenix went to visit her in detention; she was initially uncooperative with him, but eventually divulged White's identity and the location of Bluecorp to him after he threatened to take what he knew about her to the press. Phoenix went on to prove that White was Mia's murderer.
