Ryo's best friend at the academy for Espers. Bett is a young Esper that can be described as... passionnate. Despite his young age, he is most likely one of the most kwoledgeable people concerning Espers. On top of knowing a lot about their history he learnt a lot about the Espers who came to the academy before him, and about the academy itself.

He was very toung when he has been sent at the academy. The academies in the United States, his home country, were full, so he was transferred to Japan.
