Kohei is an English teacher and the homeroom teacher for Class 2C at Komagata High School. He was seen alone with Hitomi Okuda in a classroom late at night by Yakko and Mio.

Kohei was an honor student and top of his class back in his high school days. The apple of his parents' eyes, he was placed under immense pressure to attend a first-rate university. The family's plans came to naught, however, when the pressure caused Kohei to sink into a deep depression and fail his entrance exam. Even at the university he was able to enter, Kohei struggled to keep up with his classes, leaving him a vain but wounded young man.
Kohei never aspired to be a teacher, but figured it was the least he could do with his talents. He considers his students to be beneath him, and largely looks down on them all.

Jonouchi witnessed Michiyo Shiraishi kidnap Shuichi Shigima a year ago, and with that he blackmailed Michiyo into having a sexual relationship with him. Following Michiyo's death, she possessed Yakko's body and used her curse stone to kill Jonouchi as revenge.
