A specialized victim support team belonging to the Special Criminal Investigation Unit that has been deployed at Osawa's house. The members of this team are all specialists who have received training in such skills as negotiation, high-speed motorcycle and automobile driving, running phone traces, special communications, and phone records acquisition.

Among them is Kiichi Sawatari, a detective at the Metropolitan Police Department's First Criminal Investigation Section.
Having heard of Kajiwara's past deeds from his friends at the Shibuya precinct, he recommended to his boss that Kajiwara be assigned to the investigation at the Osawa residence. After seeing the detective's interactions with Osawa, he is confident that his recommendation was in the right.
