Her father was an ex-French Foreign legion soldier orgiginally from Eastern Europe. After finishing his contract, he moved to one of France's many suburbs where he met April's mom. Soon after, April was born, and the three of them managed to get several years of quiet and happiness. When April was five, her mother died in a fire at her workplace, sending her father into a streak of alcoholism and bar brawls that would last all through April's teenage years.

The romantic side she inherited from her mother sent her on a rollercoaster of teenage relationships which ended with her running away from home, with one of her lovers, at the age of nineteen.

April soon found herself alone and ashamed of her situation and decided to enlist. She went through basic training easily and became one of the best rookie recruits of the continental army. The strict conduct of the army soon became too cumbersome for her forcing her to leave and become a mercenary, running supply runs from Earth to Luna Base.

April is very easy going, prone to bouts of uncontrolled laughing that ended in several close encounters with murderous glass inhabiting liquids (milk and juices). Some have called her naive, while others have called her outright silly. In truth, April is a kind-hearted, loving, romantic young woman. Her eventful upbringing sometimes leads her to bouts of melancholy that quickly dissipate after a stiff drink and a good laugh.
