Paveena

Paveena is Priya's younger sister. She is forced into an arranged marriage as she has passed 30 without finding a husband.

Veena is a romantic that has saved herself for the love of her life but is now dreading that an old man she feels nothing for will take her virginity. The protagonist charms her and becomes the first to actually have her, in a back room at her wedding dinner, just hours before the wedding ceremony will take place. She also begs him to impregnate her, which he obliges with. (She has been taking fertility medication in secret to make sure she just had to endure sex with her husband once before fulfilling her duty as a wife.) Because of this, Paveena considers him her real husband, not the one she is legally wedded to.



There is a discrepancy regarding Paveenas age: when the protagonist comforts her in the backroom of her wedding (which leads to the love-making), she clearly states that she is 31. Yet, in part 2&3, where there is a menu with short bios on all the women the protagonist is involved with, the bio for Paveena says that she is 35. (She is the only one where there is this kind of difference, everyone else's bio fits with their own or others statements of their ages.) I chose to go with her own statement as she specifically say that she is now forced (by tradition) to accept an arranged marriage because she just passed 30 without finding a husband on her own. If she really was 35 it would have taken her parents 5 years to arrange a marriage and that doesn't jibe with how she and Priya describe them.
