Karma is the fourth leader of the Karma Family, an "information mafia" feared in Sanseto by civilians, police and yakuza alike.
Supposedly, the Karma Family have dirt on 90% of people in the town, or in neighbouring areas, which they use to influence Sanseto's politics by blackmailing people. Ironically, this has had the effect of making Sanseto's citizens more open about most of their secrets, as a way to prevent the Karma Family from being able to control them.
No one knows who they are, how many, or how they operate, but for some reason, this Karma has taken an interest in... "helping" Tanta.
During the game, Karma will provide Tanta with "favours", currently limited to shortcuts for the current Plot, or drops of ¥500 per favour. Tanta can obtain these by spending 5 FP using the pager menu. Tanta obtains FP by finding "Chances", which are intended to symbolize sordid / illegal / unethical actions used to obtain blackmail for the Karma Family. Each Chance that Tanta finds will earn her 1 FP.
