Mark's partner, a mysterious young man that Mark rescued in his days as an apprentice hunter, who then apprenticed under the same master. He is clever, knowledgeable, and generally just the smarter half of the pair. His friendship with Mark means a great deal to him, and he happily goes along with the other man as they seek out the reasons for the kingdom's sudden tyranny.
