Yuu's grandfather.
At first glance he appears like a stubborn old man, but in reality he is a very loving grandfather who cares deeply for his grandson. He runs a small guesthouse in the countryside where Yuu was born.
Together with his now late wife, he looked after Yuu when he was a child in place of his parents, who were often absent. Even after Yuu began living in the city, he continues to worry about him.
He invites Yuu and his friends to the guesthouse during the summer holidays. He is happy to see his grandson looking healthy after not seeing him in a long time, but is surprised to find out that he has brought a girlfriend.
He wishes his grandson happiness in the future, and, although it is a little premature, he is hopeful that he will have a great-grandson.
