Minamiya Ria

Classmate of the protagonist. She's a downer and a loner, and it's hard to tell what she's thinking. She's often late, and only puts effort into things that she's interested in.

She doesn't try to fit in, but she also doesn't cause any trouble for others, so it's not like she is bullied or ostracized. She just chooses to be a loner.

She doesn't get along with her father and currently lives alone. Her family is well off but she doesn't feel loved, which is where her tendency to avoid people stems from. However, in reality, she craves company and affection.

She likes cats because their way of being is so similar to her own, but cats don't seem to like her back (because of the similarity they see in her). The protagonist becomes the only thing she shows interest in after she witnesses him pick up an abandoned cat.
