Momose Daisuke

Karuta's childhood best friend. They've known each other since they were five, when Daisuke's family moved to the countryside from the city. At first, he had trouble getting adjusted to living in such a secluded place, so Karuta helped him out.

He cycles to school with Karuta every single morning -- although he isn't as fast as Karuta, so she often teases him about it. He may or may not have a crush on Karuta; it's difficult to tell. The pair of them seem especially close, however; even if they do squabble constantly about silly things.

Although he pretends to be tough, he's actually surprisingly afraid of urban legends and horror stories. This may be why he isn't entirely comfortable living in the country -- because of all the creepy noises you hear at night...
