Inoue Satoru

A young doctor, who graduated from medical school only a year ago. He's been working in a small hospital in a countryside town for the past four months or so.

He's the son of a relatively rich family, which means he had a fairly privileged childhood. However, his parents were rather strict, and had high expectations of him. Being a shy and fairly anxious child, he found the pressure exerted on him by his parents too stressful -- and constantly felt as though he was letting them down. Part of the reason he became a doctor may have been to placate them.

He isn't a naturally intelligent person, so he had to study hard to achieve his current position. He's especially dense when it comes to understanding the emotions of others -- though he tries hard.
