During the end of the game, it was revealed that she had faked her death in order to get out of her abusive relationship with her husband, Oliver. It turns out she had eventually fallen in love with Maximillian, Louise's father, after he saved her life. The two of them carefully planned out all of Louise and Kia's requests together, all with the intention of teaching them how to live a good life despite their circumstances.
