Himeno Towa

The proprietress of “Himenoya,” a ryokan where the staff speak in the Kyoto dialect. She is Himenoya’s mother. She has been a widow ever since her husband passed away over a decade ago.

Although she looks very young, she is quite self-conscious about her age, so it has become an unspoken rule at Himenoya not to bring up the subject.
