Konomi's mother and Shuuji's stepmother from Kimio's second marriage. She is a woman of action who gets everything she wants thanks to her perseverance. Although she has quite weak mentality, she isn't a bad person at heart. Rather, she is deeply emotional and clumsy, which is why she is always at edge.
When she lost her first husband, Nadeshiko almost lost her desire to live, having only Konomi as the only will to live. At the bottom of the hole, Kimio "saved" her. Over time, she fell in love with him and remarried with him. Upon Kimio's death, she swore to respect her commitments as the mother of Seto family for her two children.
She sincerely regrets that she didn't succeed to becoming a mother for Shuuji, but that doesn't stop her from doing everything to look after him.
