The adoptive son of a yakuza boss, he puts up a "man of wealth and taste" playboy facade in order to maintain a specific distance from his classmates. He has a strong belief in the importance of money. Living alone in an apartment, he helps his father with work and seeks to save money to pay off a debt. He has some problems with memory loss and loves classical music.

He constantly pretends to be a selfish, bad person to the point that he even tries to convince himself (and the readers) of that fact, but in reality, he is a rather kind and selfless person, who would literally put everything he has on the line to help others. Even his obsession with money is just due to a massive debt he has to pay back, which he has by no fault of his own. His public demeanor is mostly a show he puts on, and he actually leads a rather humble lifestyle.
