Satoshi developed terminal symptoms of Hinamizawa Syndrome due to his aunt's abuse and murdered her with a baseball bat on the night of the festival in 1982. As of 1983, Satoshi has remained in the clinic's basement in a comatose state as Irie searches for a cure.
