Uesugi Ren

Commander of the Uesugi Imperial Guard Division—one of the central divisions of the Rokukyō—as well as the Capital Defence Division.
She is the current head of the Uesugi Family, one of the Rokukyō Families, and the mother of Yayoi.
With the Great Empire of Ivan launching its second invasion, she now serves as acting commander of the Ryōjun Fortress.

She is open-hearted and approachable, yet she exudes a sensual allure that is difficult to reconcile with that of a mother of one child.
However, she is a strict parent towards her daughter. At times, her words and actions reveal a readiness to pursue the prosperity of the Uesugi Family by any means necessary, creating tension between mother and child.

Three years ago, during the war, she distinguished herself in battle by using the Rokukyō Families’ Mechanical Armour.
In that conflict, having taken a liking to the protagonist, Ren permitted Hayakawa’s machine, Kotetsu, to bear the Sanskrit character of Bishamonten—the guardian deity of the Uesugi Family.
