Has bright personality, but also a sharp tongue. He's very careful at thinking about something, thus, because of his tendency to overthink something, he is slow at making decision. But quickly making a move once he has set his mind.

When he was young, he loves tinkering with machines. But he becomes physically ill when he touches them. So having to deal with the machines for long time puts him in dilemma. Despite that, he continues to help his grandfather, and tinkering with his beloved machines.

Keiji's parents already dead so he feels indebted to Shino, who has looked after him since they were kids. Shortly after he takes Kumiko under his wing and starting to work as full-fledged mechanic, suddenly an unknown organism from space becomes attached to him.

"I really am at the calmest when I'm working with machines... Ugh...!"
