However, he has also been criticized by both his followers and outside for his aggressive solicitation, strict rules that do not allow withdrawal, ties with political groups that could lead to interference in politics, and income from his position as a religious corporation.

He also runs a school called "Shosei Gakuen" and serves as its chairman.
