Leader of the Haguro army's Four Heavenly Kings. Recognized as the finest martial artist in the land, he spearheads the Four Heavenly Kings, though he finds the role burdensome. True to the saying "heroes love beauty", he has an insatiable appetite for women and drink. This nature led Setsuran to assign him the task of training prisoners. Driven by his inherent womanizing and hatred for Imae, he eagerly takes on this duty. He views war as a nuisance and thinks sacrificing one's life for the country is foolish, maintaining a consistently cynical attitude. Despite this, Uneme cannot bear the thought of Manahime – who reminds him of his sister killed by the Imae forces – falling into the hands of his hated enemy. Thus, he throws himself into a war he'd rather avoid.
