Mikado Fumika

Fumika was widowed at the age of 24 after her husband Mikado Kouji (神門 浩司) died in a car accident. All three of her children are really the offspring of incestuous union with her father Heizo, in line with the Mikado clan's long standing custom of inbreeding to preserve the purity of the bloodline. Fumika herself was raped by her elder brother Kazuo years before the ceremony which selected her future husband. In line with the clan tradition, it is Heizo who wields the real power within the household with Fumika little more than a figurehead for public appearances.

Although she is in her early 40s, she has the appearance and figure of a much younger woman because of the concoctions prepared by Tatewaki Rei made from the organs of children abducted from the surrounding area.

She is slightly old-fashioned in her tastes and is unable to comprehend why her daughters and mansion guests are so enamoured with modern technological amusements. Her hobbies include reading and playing the piano (her favourite piece is "The Maiden's Prayer" by Bądarzewska). She was also a capable horse-rider and clay-shooter until her family used alcohol to wean her off the pursuits.

A closet romantic who has killed her emotions for decades, Fumika cares for her daughters deeply and will do anything to provide them with happiness.
