Katagiri Hitose

The protagonist has fabricated his true identity, because it would be useful for infiltration into SHEEPIII. His real name is Katagiri Hitoha, and he has two objectives. The first one is to get to know the truth about the SHEEP tragedy seven years ago, which claimed the life of his sister, Hitose. The second one is to alter the course of the SHEEPIII incident, which is about to occur and in which only him and Momoi Yukari will survive. The incident itself was caused by him, as he hacked the SHEEPIII's systems and rewrote its program. He estimated that it would give him an opportunity to obtain information from its computers. Nevertheless, he was unaware of the horrific creatures on the sea floor and the measures ROMLES had taken to contain them. Because of this, even though Hitoha's simulation indicated that his strategy would succeed, reality turned out to be entirely different. First off, he could only hack the submarine systems thanks to Nomura Reiri's backdoor. Second, due to the quick sinking of the submarine, ozone exploded, the back section's top two floors were flooded, and various other damage was sustained. Third, there was a COOS in the water near the sea floor and sea creatures were infected by it.

When Hitoha's parents died, he left only his cheerful and kind older sister, Hitose. She replaced him a mother and genuinely cared about him. After some time, she enrolled in graduate school and immediately began working for ROMLES. Seven years ago, Hitose went on an underwater expedition of SHEEP and died of an undisclosed cause. After that, the protagonist lived only to know the cause of her death. Using the business card of the person who came to him from ROMLES to extend their condolences, he got access to the ROMLES system development department. Nevertheless, he was unable to find any relevant information in the systems he could get access to. In order to know the truth, he decided to take an extreme step—gaining access to SHEEPIII's computers directly from inside.
