A war orphan who lost both his parents in the "Ten Year War" that occurred in Tsukiyomi Island sixteen years ago. He is your “average” teenager with an unfortunate past. A level-headed free thinker who deeply cares for those close to him and is easily agitated should they come in harm's way. One of his trademark traits is him fiddling with his hair whenever he is thinking.

He is the last Mahoutsukai who awakened his powers when his life was at risk. He is referred to as the "Missing Number 13". Because he was the last one to awaken his true potential, Reiji has no knowledge of magic at all. To make up for his lack of experience, his Magical Weapon of Tactical Destruction, Sakura, provides him the information he needs about his opponents. Even though he lacks battle experience, his brawls with his childhood friend, Ryuichi, allows him to adapt in his situation during battles. In addition, the amount of mana he has is extraordinary, to the point where he may surpass all the other mahoutsukais. Hence, he is deemed an "Irregular" in Ragnarok. With the ability to summon anything in the 24 hours timeframe, he is not suited for battle. However, he is excellent as a battle support that can heal or summon allies to the front lines.

A young man who awakened his powers as a Mahoutsukai and won the last Mahoutsukai War, Ragnarok. Although he grew up as a war orphan, he is currently freeloading in the Sagara household. A level-headed free thinker who deeply cares for those close to him and is easily agitated should they come in harm's way. He is the factual leader of the "Mahoutsukai".

Reiji is able to create many strategies with flexible ideas from out of nowhere. Originally, he fought using his "Ability" that was not suited for battles; therefore, making him an unusual strategist-type "Mahoutsukai". However, his fighting capabilities are also very high. Reiji is able to forcefully pour enormous amounts of "Magic Power" into his fist, creating frightening destructive power when he fires it at his opponents.
