Niizuma Hiyori

A childhood friend who attends the same class as the protagonist and sits directly in front of him. She is the daughter of the owner of a traditional Japanese tea house, where the protagonist ends up living temporarily and eventually working as well.

Her straightforward and open personality makes her easy to befriend, but she often makes unnecessary remarks and is completely oblivious to reading the room. Her manner of speaking is as laid-back as her lifestyle.

In reality, she is more sensible than her outward appearance suggests. Raised in a single-parent household, she has prioritized keeping loneliness at bay since she became aware of her surroundings.

Her dream is to live in a house with a view of whales and auroras.
