Abandoned as an infant in a poor fishing village, Reinhold's early days were filled with abuse and tragedy. Swordsmanship was the primary outlet he had to take his mind off his miserable situation, and eventually became his ticket to finally escaping it entirely and joining the army.

The five years he spent there hunting down bandits, mercenary groups and other such threats to Grenache served to further regine his skills and distinguish himself amongst his comrades. So when word got out that the King himself was going to hold a swordsmanship tournament, Reinhold's commanding officer practically forced him to enter.

Little did he expect that winning it would net him a job as Royal Bodyguard.
