Kanade Taiga is actually not his real name. The real Kanade Taiga was the son of Tomohito and Azusa, who rescued the nameless protagonist from the dungeon when he was a small boy. The protagonist assumes Kanade Taiga's name when he travels back in time with Kuro to save Mashiro. He is sometimes referred to as "boku" to differentiate him from the real Kanade Taiga, but aside from Kanade Taiga, he never had and is never given any other name.
