Marius

The first time Marius sees Liliane, it’s during her wedding procession through the streets of Artoire. Though a street urchin at the time without a penny to his name, Marius falls in love with Liliane at first sight; prepared to lay down his very life for her sake, if need be.

The second time Marius sees Liliane, he’s rather more cynical. After serving as a soldier in a fruitless war and losing many of his comrades, he begins to wonder whether the queen cares for her people as much as they care for her.

Rendered cold and distant after witnessing so much bloodshed, Marius is determined to bring the queen he once loved to justice, no matter the cost. Unfortunately, he isn’t as cold-hearted as he would like to think.
