He was of the Yellow status, but he committed a crime and was banished as a criminal (Hazushi) to Yomi.
He's Kanan's older twin brother, however he was adopted by a noble family of the Yellow because of his strong Yellow traits.
He's currently atoning for his crime as a labourer in the construction of the Ama No Mihashira.

In "Catharsis" the construction of the Ama No Mihashira is completed, so he took a new job at the Shikinjou bathhouse, making use of his skilled hands.
