The protagonist, Sawamatsu Yuuki (name changeable), possessed a unique ability: the power to induce illusions in those he locked eyes with.
This extraordinary ability caught the attention of the head of the prestigious conglomerate, Kanba, who quickly recruited him. Thanks to the sheer utility of his power, Yuuki was often used as a convenient tool for the company’s benefit. Yet, at the same time, he was trusted and given opportunities to fully utilize his otherwise overwhelming ability. As a close aide, he found a sense of fulfillment in his role.
However, everything changed when the head of Kanba suddenly passed away, leaving his granddaughter, Kanba Kisara, to take over. Naturally, the atmosphere within the company shifted dramatically. Kisara’s methods, starkly different from her predecessor’s, began driving the company’s success. Even Yuuki, who had witnessed the former head’s leadership up close, couldn’t help but respect her skills.
But Yuuki wasn’t entirely pleased with the new state of affairs. With the former head gone, there was no one left who could rival Kisara’s influence. The thought of stepping up and taking control himself began to simmer in his mind.
There were, however, a few problems. For one, his ability didn’t seem to work on Kisara. Worse, anyone under his influence would have their illusions dispelled the moment they got close to her. On top of that, Kisara seemed to suspect that Yuuki had some kind of special power.
If his ability alone could break through, it would’ve been easy. But since it didn’t work on her, he’d need to find another way. This wasn’t something he could pull off alone. He’d have to rely on Akatsuki Ririka, his trusted right-hand woman since his days as the former head’s aide, and leverage connections across the board.
And so, Yuuki made up his mind: he would drag Kisara down from her position as head of Kanba and stage a coup to claim the top spot for himself.
“This time, it’s my turn to stand at the top.”
