Yamato Kaminagi, an officer in the Imperial Army, has never had a strong sense of self and has always harbored deep feelings that each passing moment isn’t quite real, as if it’s but a dream.

Though he should possess astounding abilities, his talents are inferior to those around him where they count most. That very fact exacerbates this notion that something isn’t quite right in his maladjusted life. He leads his days with the sensation as if he botched his life from the very beginning and has lifelessly resigned himself to the notion that these days will go on.

A world where nothing goes his way. A man unfit for this world. As if he cares. Such matters aren't even trivially important to him.
He is now alive with his friends by his side and can look towards a future filled with blessings. What more could he really wish for?
