Episode 1: Meiji Overwinter

Strength belonged to me.
I loved the sword.
As long as I had my sword, I was never lonely.
Strength was mine alone.
Meiji Year 4.
Yukikaze, a fox spirit, served the new government while sharpening his sword skills.
That's when rumors of "the wolf of Tohoku" Haruka reached him.
Haruka was said to be unbeatable in Kanto, and Yukikaze burned with a warrior's rage at the thought.
Finally, unable to stand the jealousy, he set out to hunt down Haruka.
He didn't even realize that winter was closing in on Oou, the mountain country where Haruka lived...
In endless wind and snow of the northlands starts the story of how Haruka and Yukikaze first met...

Episode 2: Meiji Parting

After overwintering's over, Haruka and Yukikaze headed down to the village.
What was waiting for them bellow was a total chaos from the government shake-up.
Then an official named Itsuki showed up, smooth-talking Yukikaze into going monster hunting.

"I'll take back who I am."

To challenge Haruka, Yukikaze set out to reclaim his sword, taking on a powerful foe.

Chapter 3: The Taisho Years

Time passed, and the Taisho era brought modernization everywhere.
Yukikaze found himself in Kanda, Tokyo.
He lived among humans with Otora, his old colleague, and Kuri, their new companion.

"Foxes are finally just part of history. Now there's only foxes trying to get by."

The three of them stayed out of society's spotlight, carving out their own little space together.
But even those quiet days weren't safe from the circle of time.
The world kept on changing, as nothing stays still for long.
Even so, people kept dreaming of spring, making it through winter time and time again.
And the song of overwintering keeps echoing, no matter the era.
