Ashley Garland, an ancient great magician whose resurrection was announced to the world after the fall of the Holy Kingdom of Austin.
Once sealed away by a saint during a global war known as the Sealing War, he was dubbed the Demon King and once again plunged the world into chaos, eventually conquering even the Gareth Empire, the largest nation ruling the western part of the continent.
Having heard of the emergence of a culture not present a thousand years ago, Ashley became interested in the eastern part of the continent.
