protagonist lived alone in this mansion, relying on no one, due to the annoyance and distrust of the adults he had never met who called themselves "relatives" and approached him in pursuit of his possessions.
Suddenly, a girl appeared in front of his house, carrying a letter. It was
July 21st, and the lingering rain of the rainy season had turned into a misty rain, wetting the girl's hair.
The letter, silently handed to him, included the name of the "relative" from several years ago, the girl's name, circumstances, and a request that he fulfill his obligation to support her.
The girl, a distant relative of the protagonist, had lost both parents in an accident, just like the protagonist, and as a result, had become disabled. Now
able to walk only with a cane, she was passed around from relative to relative, eventually losing her place in the world and eventually finding herself living with the protagonist, who was in a similar situation.
Although it was a forced situation, the moment the protagonist saw the girl, he felt a resemblance to his younger sister and decided to accept her.
