Johannes Brahms

Johannes Brahms (1833–1897) was a composer and pianist of the mid-Romantic period, known for his rhythmic vitality and expressive counterpoint. He reinterpreted traditional forms from various earlier composers. His works comprise four symphonies, four concertos, a Requiem, chamber music, and numerous folk-song arrangements and Lieder for various ensembles.
