The game was supposed to be released on Steam, generating a mainstream controversy, which resulted in the game's removal from the Steam storefront before its sale.
Thanks to the controversy the game got blacklisted and banned by basically every money transfer option and distributor. The author then uploaded the full game to Pirate Bay, making it a freeware. As Steam never actually sold the game, the release date is the date of the torrent upload to Pirate Bay.
